scottacorbin asked: On the "How To Kill And Be Killed" DVD you said some fantastic things that really stuck with me about Christians and art. I've been meaning to ask... are there any specific books you'd recommend on the subject of Christians and art?
i would enthusiastically recommend imagine by steve turner for starters. that book certainly helped me construct a more nuanced language with which to think about vocational artistry vs. vocational ministry. i’ve always felt/intuited that i do the former but most jesus-following artists are implicitly pressured to do the latter. while it isn’t always either or, there is typically a pull one way or the other and a resulting framework that helps govern creative/career decisions.
other than that, throw a dart at a list of francis schaeffer writings on the arts.
